A great start to the Blackpool Skating Festival 2022
Day one of the skating festival got off to a great start with 4 of our WISC members taking to the ice to compete in 4 different categories at this years Blackpool Skating Festival. The festival is very popular and draws lots of competitive skaters to Blackpool.
Competing in
Beginners Age 8 & under was Siobhan Murphy who was competing in her first ever IJS, and came in at 11th place
Beginner age 13 was Mia Moss in 13th position. Mia achieved a new personal best, despite having a really nasty fall that certainly would take your breath away if you saw it. She bravely got up and continued to skate and still left the competition smiling with that new PB.
Beginner age 14 and over was Molly Wilson in 23rd position.
and finally skating in the Beginners Age 10 was Blake Cairns who skated her way to a 1st place podium spot. An incredible achievement in a field of 22 skaters strong to take the Gold.
A big well done to all the skaters who took part in the event and we hope you all had a really enjoyable day.
We even heard the club mascot made it all the way to Blackpool, courtesy of Cai. Did you know this is where the club mascot made his first appearence in Blackpool.
