And the Winner is.....
WISC would firstly like to say a big thank you, to those who took the time to submit charities that are close to their hearts. We had a fantastic list of nominations that could be voted on and again we really appreciate the time people have taken to vote, on who you wanted us to support. We do apologise if you missed your chance to vote or nominate. As a club this year we are working on a really tight turn around time. From booking the ice time, finalising a charity, completing all the necessary paper work and ensuring we have the correct permits in place to be able run on the 7th November.
We are proud to announce for 2021, we will be supporting the North West Air Ambulance Charity.
A common misconception is that when ever the North West Air Ambulance attends a scene of an accident or an emergency situation, it has been sent by the governments NHS ambulance services. When in fact it is a charity that relies on donations to operate and provide this life saving care to those in critical need.
From accidental injuries in remote locations that the regular ambulance services may struggle to get too, to severe medical emergencies that require rapid transport. The crew deliver specialist and enhanced pre-hospital care to the most critically ill and injured, and transport patients to the most appropriate hospital to achieve the best outcomes for them. Medical interventions that they provide at the scene of an incident include Rapid Sequence Induction (RSI), administering blood transfusions, analgesia, and many other lifesaving interventions.
You only have to look at their website to see how people have been rescued and lives have been saved when tragedy occurs. https://www.nwairambulance.org.uk
We look forward to welcoming entry forms in the coming days and putting on another great charity event raising money for a brilliant cause. Please keep an eye on the website for the latest information, we will endeavour to also post on other social media platforms too.
