Blake Strikes Gold

Day one of the Blackpool Ice Skating Festival got off to a great start for one of our Young Skaters. Blake Cairns was joined by 22 other national competitors to compete in the Beaver Creek Cup (age 10 category). Blake had a fantastic skate scoring over 19 points to become the clear winner of her age group. Often in skating we find scores at the top of a table can be so close and you can miss out on the top spot by 0.3 of a mark. Blake managed to seal her victory skate with a clear point (1.0) over her second placed competitor, which might not sound a lot but in skating it is.

A wonderful achievement for a hard working skater and we know your Coach, Michelle Cosham is absolutely over the moon with your performance. Well done Blake!! We look forward to seeing how you get on in the rest of this season.
