Jess Jumps back to Gold

Competing at Sheffield in the Non ISU 2022 in the Advanced Novice competition, Jessica made her return to national competitions with a bang. Back in November 2021, Jessica picked up a severe injury breaking her ankle whilst training. Ice skating is one of those sports where you can pick up really serious injuries and unfortunately for Jess this one was an injury that most skaters fear and can be quite common in the sport.

After being off the ice for over 10 weeks, Jess has been working hard to get back to full fitness, which has certainly paid off. On both days at the Non ISU competition Jess came in first place in both her categories. She has broken her Personal Best Scores in both the Short and Free Programs. In her Short program she improved by two points and she has phenomenally smashed her PB score for the Free program by 8 points!!

The scores have allowed Jess to pass with a level 9 skating level and she has achieved a Junior Score on both days, which mean Jess can now compete in the Junior Ladies Categories. Jess can now look forward to doing the British Championships Qualifier in August as a result of all her hard work and dedication on ice.

Well Done Jess this has been a super achievement and an incredible come back!! We look forward to hearing how the rest of your season progresses.
